So that our concerts can continue to be accessible to all, we keep our ticket prices very moderate. Volunteers run the organizational part of things and membership contributions help pay our expenses.

Our wish list includes:

    • being able to do more BENEFIT CONCERTS
    • continuing our tradition of hosting prominent GUEST ARTISTS
    • and acquiring moderately priced sound EQUIPMENT to enable us to perform in a wider variety of venues (including outdoor concerts).

Towards these ends, we welcome monetary and in-kind donations.

Benefit Concerts: The Power of Music to Help Others

In the past, the Family Folk Chorale has proudly partnered with other organizations to create events, raising funds for and awareness of the important work of these groups:

The Arlington-Teosinte Sister City Project
Waltham Fields Community Farm
Partners in Health
The UN World Food Program
The Treehouse Foundation
The Huntington's Disease Foundation
Amigos de las Americas

Our performances are also now Fans with Cans events.

We would love to see the power of intergenerational music continue to reverberate to help those in need. In order to make this possible, we need support from beyond our usual membership. If you'd like to partner with us in supporting a worthwhile cause, please consider being a sponsor for a future benefit concert and/or making a donation to our benefit concert fund.

If you are interested in sponsoring a future benefit concert, please contact to discuss your ideas.

Bill Meikle Visiting Artist Fund

For some of our concerts, we are thrilled to share the stage with guest artists whose music we are celebrating. We've had the privilege of hosting artists including Bill Staines, Sol Y Canto, Robbie O'Connell (of the Clancy Bros.), Tracy Grammer, folk writer Scott Alarik, and others. And, thanks to the creation of the Bill Meikle Visiting Artist Fund in 2006 by his wife and FFC member Barbara Meikle, we have a vehicle to support this exciting tradition of collaborating with prominent musicians.

If you would like to contribute to the Bill Meikle Visiting Artist Fund, please contact to discuss your ideas.

Equipment Needs

To enable us to perform in a wider variety of venues (including outdoor concerts), we are seeking to acquire the following equipment used or new:

    • Performance shell (to accommodate a 25' wide chorus presence)
    • Portable staging
    • PA system components (speakers and monitors, sound board)
    • Mic stands
    • Simple stage lighting equipment

If you would like to help us acquire the means to perform outside and in more venues as a group, please contact to discuss your ideas.
