In addition to directing the Family Folk Chorale, Chris Eastburn is an arranger, performer and award winning composer. Recent commissions include works for Newport's Island Moving Company, the MIT Shakespeare Ensemble, choreographer Daniel McCusker, and Rattlesby management of Atlanta. Chris serves on the board of the PALS children's chorus, which sings with the Boston Symphony. Annually he co-produces a concert with them which benefits Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc., an agency that serves homeless, runaway and at-risk youth. Chris also arranges and performs with singer/songwriter Eliza Moore, and has worked extensively with the von Trapp family's newest generation of singers, including writing orchestra arrangements for them. Chris received a Master's degree from Boston University in 1997, where the faculty elected him to the National Music Honor Society. He enjoys sharing music making with people of all ages and walks of life, and has a firm belief in the power of music to effect positive change.
